Pages Stuck Together

I'm up to my eyeballs lately in separating the LowNav site from the placeholders that make  up most of the DanNav site. What L&N did is in the past, and what I have to do in the future. But the two halves are related, inseparable. There is some overlap -- I hope Eric and I find a new way to write together, and that the Live Archive series stirs new interest in experiences from five, ten, fifteen years ago.  They were fun once, so they can be fun again.

Sifting through the treasure trove of recordings we've amassed over the past couple dozen years has been more difficult than I thought, partly because of its sheer volume, and partly because, in order to make it entertaining, I've had to relisten to countless hours of these concerts and create a program that can be absorbed.  It would be easier form me to just dump them on all of you, but much more difficult for you to process. Some shows are stellar, others of marginal quality, and only a few are of any historical importance, unless your recollectiion of a given show has some major significance for you.

Certainly,we always tried to make each show different, a reflection of a place in time, rather than simply being human jukeboxes.  Others are better suited to that role than we were. For us, it was always about following the dynamic between Eric and me and our players, wherever it might lead.  Toward the end, we got pretty good at it, and that's when we noticed more and more of you all attending multiple shows. That egged us on to make the differences more striking. Above all, it was fun for us to do what we did. It was a grand time. Thanks for making it possible.

The taks of making my new site out of the elements of the old site is also daunting. The details that go into web design are so intricate, I'll surely have spots before my eyes when I'm done.  But it will be worth it.  At least, I think so.  Better to err on the side of completeness.

So, as I have said on the homepage, "watch this space." I'll try to keep it interesting.
